Accessibility Statement
updated May 23, 2026
1. Our Commitment
We are committed to ensuring that our community and retreat experiences are as inclusive as possible. We believe that everyone deserves a space to remember and heal, and we strive to provide a website and event programming that are accessible to all individuals, regardless of ability.
2. Digital Accessibility (Website)
We aim to adhere to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. Our efforts to improve digital accessibility include:
-
Providing alt-text for all visual imagery.
-
Ensuring high contrast ratios for text readability.
-
Maintaining a site structure that is navigable via keyboard and screen readers.
-
Ongoing Efforts: Digital accessibility is a journey. We regularly review our site to identify and fix potential barriers.
3. Physical Accessibility (Retreats & Adventures)
Our retreats often take place in natural environments, including beaches and mountain trails.
-
Nature of Programming: Due to the "Adventure" nature of some retreats (e.g., kayaking, hiking, or climbing), some locations may have natural terrain that presents mobility challenges.
-
Transparency: We commit to providing detailed descriptions of the physical requirements for every retreat. This includes trail difficulty ratings, elevation changes, and the availability of paved paths or ramps.
-
Reasonable Accommodations: We will work with any participant to provide reasonable accommodations where possible. If a specific location is not accessible for a participant's specific needs, we will do our best to suggest an alternative retreat (such as our "Peaceful Practices" sessions) that may better suit their requirements.
4. Requesting Accommodations
If you have a specific accessibility need or if you find any part of our website or programming difficult to access, please reach out to us. We welcome the opportunity to discuss how we can support your participation.
